bloodytom: seex years of creepyness

I have gone from a month of inactivity. My old host suddenly decided to stop providing service just like that. No backups were given and I was completely pissed. A couple of my updates were gone. It was partly my fault since the backup plugin I installed wasn't really working. I was out of mood to reupload the whole site again (not to mention my other blog) and update the database and everything. It's just my night off now and I don't have anything to do.

The gap between my last post and this is a huge one, that's why this is a big jump. Surprise, surprise, it's already 2009 2010. Damn, I still haven't gotten myself used to writing this year on dates. But as a summary, I think 2009 had been a productive year. Still a little slow but still progress is progress. I was able to find a good job on the last quarter of the year and I'm still employed there, thank the Lord, and doing quite well actually. My contract is going to end next month but I'm hoping to be a regular somehow. I was able to know a few friends from work and also join another band called Project Nancy. My wife and I are still going stronger in our relationship, adventures and struggles. We're about to celebrate our 7th year anniversary in a couple of months.

2010 didn't come in a very desirable time as my mood was very unstable. It has started to sink in after a few days, though and I just have to welcome the inevitable. I was met with the news of good performance at work in spite of myself and a part time job as a writer. I'm hoping to find more projects to keep myself busy and save some money for myself.

As for this site, I don't have any plans of giving it up permanently. I hope to continue this one as well. Someday it will help me in whatever way it can. Welcome 2010!

This weekend has been great and I am able to relax before going on another week to work. I was checking out youtube videos yesterday and I found videos of one of my favorite bands, Fireflight, on their Front Row Live performance. This band is relatively new to me. They are a Christian band. I've known them for a couple of years and I instantly loved their songs. While watching the videos, somehow I felt jealous that they could sing their hearts out about God, and I wanna do that too.

I already have a couple of songs and it's relatively easier to write Christian lyrics than the usual songs I write. I think I'll play either the guitar or bass, and just do backup vocals. I want the other members to know how to sing too. And preferably, know how to write and perform songs as well. I can write songs on my own but it is really hard to make those riffs and drum tracks especially since I never had any formal lessons. And the feel of the music is very confined to my own ideas only. I'd love to have inputs and contributions from the rest of the group. I think it's more exciting to play and listen to if different ideas form into one song. It's more fulfilling to the artist and the performer.

This is all just an idea that I have but it would be really great if it will come true. I used to sing in our school choir and perform in the church and in other events but I don't see myself in that style anymore. I feel more comfortable in this kind of ministry because it's my real passion and it's what I've always wanted to do.
